If you have been listening to the news recently you have most likely heard that red wine can be good for your health. It is a statement that has been made several times but is it really true and if so, why is red wine good you? First, you need to know that there have been many studies done on red wine and the effects it has on the human body. These studies have revealed that red wine is good for you when it is consumed in regular but moderate amounts.

Now, the next question is why is red wine good for the body? Red wine is fermented with the grape skins much longer than other wines are, which is one reason it is believed to be healthier for you. Resveratrol is found in the seeds and the skin of the grapes that are used to make red wine. Therefore, it contains more phenolic constituents that are good for the body such as flavonoids and resveratrol. It is believed that the antioxidants found in red wine will help to protect the lining of blood vessels that are located in your heart.

What are the different ways that red wine can benefit the body? The studies done on red wine have also shown that there are several benefits to drinking red wine. It has been associated with helping to keep the heart, brain, lungs and kidneys healthy. It is also used in the prevention of cancers such as prostate and breast cancer.

Studies have also shown that having one or two drinks per day can help to raise the good cholesterol in your body called HDL cholesterol while reducing the bad cholesterol called LDL. It is also believed that used in moderation red wine can help to reduce your risk of having blood clots. Basically, it is believed that drinking red wine in moderation is associated with longevity and just general good health.

If you are searching for a way to help improve your health you may want to consider adding red wine to your diet. Of course, before you do this it is recommended that you discuss this with your doctor before you begin. You should be in general good health before consuming any alcoholic beverage. There are some medical conditions that can be made worse by consuming alcohol. Some of these include liver disease, pancreatitis, uncontrolled hypertension and depression to name a few. However, if you are healthy it could be a good way to help improve your overall health and feel even better.
